Red is the color of lust, but green is what lust leaves behind, in heart, in womb. Green is what is left when ardor fades, when passion dies, when we die, too.

thinking about all the “small” art that’s ever existed. songs that were only ever sung in one village. stories written by children that got lost in the shuffle. personal paintings that didn’t survive the test of time. how they affected the lives of just a few, but still existed, still mattered to someone.
this is not a sad post!!!! this is a celebration!!!!! art is part of the human condition!!!!!!! we were born to create and share!!!!!!!!!!!
BF and I were just talking about how there must have been, in ancient times, just after we harnessed fire, people who put on shadow puppet plays. And some of those people, just as some shadow puppet performers today, would have been astonishingly good at their job. And it's so ephemeral, just firelight and a favorable surface like a rock face, cave wall, or stretched hide, and the motion of human hands.
We have always made art. And the overwhelming majority of it has been "small" art. Almost nothing lasts. Almost nothing. That doesn't mean it meant nothing.
